Ancient City of Kamiros
in Rhodes island
On the north-western shore of Rhodes, close to the promontory of Agios Minas (the ancient Mylantio) lies the third and smallest of the island’s ancient cities, Kamiros.
When the settlement of classical times was leveled by an earthquake in 226 BC, the city was re-built in line with the Hippodamean system, on three levels.
On the lowest of these stood the Hellenistic temple, the Doric fountain and the perivolos of the altars. On the middle level stood the main part of the city and at the top of the hill was the acropolis with the temple of Athena and the Stoa.

Kamiros beach
The beach in Kamiros is located in beautiful, natural surroundings with mountains, trees, flowers and, of course, the lovely turquoise water.
The main beach is approx. 200 metres long and covered by sand, some places mixed with gravel. The water is clear with beautiful turquoise shades.
The facilities include changing facilities, showers and toilets. Also, there is free WiFi at the beach.
Kamiros beach is one of the best beaches on the west coast of Rhodes. Its remote location means that there is usually plenty of room at the beach.
